I was inspired by the wocus lilies as I explored a high desert lake in my kayak. The pristine waters hosted an enormous variety of plant and animal species. The air was alive with blue damsel flies, red dragonflies and tiny blue butterflies. This painting explores the threat to wetlands from human development.
